• LEAD Pastor

Charles and Marilyn Mattix have given spiritual leadership to the Crossroads family since April of 2001.

Born in Tulsa, OK, Charles and Marilyn met in high school and were married shortly following graduation in 1969. They began ministry as Ministers of Music in 1972 in Salina, KS. In 1973 they accepted a Youth Pastor's position in Garden City, KS and that same year began their pastoral ministry. Over a period of 48 years they have served congregations in Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Arizona and presently in Southern California. They are presently in their 20th year as pastor's at Crossroads Assembly, Barstow, CA.

Charles and Marilyn share a passionate love for Biblical truth and are dedicated to Biblical preaching and teaching. Charles earned his Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry and a Bachelor of Arts in Evangelism from Southwestern Assemblies of God University and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in Springfield, Missouri. Charles and Marilyn raised 4 children--all boys.

They take pleasure in their 3 daughters-in-law and 12 grandchildren and 8 (soon to be 9) great grandchildren. The most recent grandson was adopted from Ethiopia. They cherish spending time together, sunset strolls along the ocean beaches, sight-seeing and the grandkids. For them life is good, 51 years of marriage great, and God is absolutely awesome!

Charles sums up their purpose in life and ministry, "We live to serve Christ and demonstrate His love to people. God wants people to experience His love, forgiveness and immeasurable joy. If we can help people know Christ and live for Him, then we have done well."

  • Daggett campus pastor

Cristino and Zulma Santiago joined Crossroads Assembly when it was Barstow First Assembly in 1998. We were both born in the beautiful Island of Puerto Rico and raised in the Bronx New York. We have two boys who are dedicated to Jesus and find great pleasure in serving in their local churches. We have made our permanent residence in Southern California since 1984.

Pastor Cris in an Ordained Minister with the Assemblies Of God, and enjoys woodworking, specifically cabinet making and landscape painting. Zulma is a certified Sunday school teacher with the Assemblies of God, enjoys making flannel blankets, doing crossword puzzles, praying, reading the Word and assisting in ministry. She is a prayer warrior constantly praying for the brethren.

When I came to Barstow I had just completed my Certified level credentials and began working with then Pastor Bruce Taylor as a helper. After his retirement Pastor Story came on and allowed me to assist him as his associate Pastor. He moved on and Pastor Don Bibbler came in as interim Pastor and again I was able to assist him until a permanent Lead Pastor was hired.

Shortly after Pastor Mattix came on board two churches became available to me and I was appointed to Daggett's Trinity Assembly as Lead Pastor. My tenure there was ten years after which I retired. About four years after my retirement Trinity Assembly now Crossroads Assembly Daggett Campus became available again and I came out of retirement to fill the position of Associate to Pastor Mattix at Crossroads Assembly Daggett.
